About Midtown Groom & Board
Austin’s Premier Pet Company — Est. 1970
Established in 1970, Midtown Groom & Board has served Austin pet families across multiple generations, earning a reputation as a company pet parents can trust.
Our original owner, Dolly, launched Midtown as Austin’s very first professional grooming salon — a pioneering business that helped define the standard for professional pet care in this city. More than five decades later, we’re still here, still locally owned, and still committed to giving every dog the personalized care they deserve.
We pride ourselves on knowing the specific needs of each pet for a truly personalized experience. Here, you’ll find the friendliest, most experienced team in Austin — a long-term management staff that brings stability, expertise, and genuine love for animals every single day.
We offer full-service grooming for dogs at our convenient Midtown location, from standard breed grooms and hand scissoring to customized styles. We also offer overnight boarding 365 days a year and doggy daycare Monday through Saturday for social dogs that love playing with friends.
We don’t just care for dogs — we celebrate them. Come see the difference that thoughtful, experienced, professional pet care makes.
Meet the Team
Midtown’s long-tenured team is what makes us truly different. Our staff isn’t just experienced — they’re passionate, knowledgeable, and deeply connected to every dog in their care.
Natalie Hammons | General Manager
Natalie has been with Midtown for over eight years and is a native Texan with a lifelong love of animals. Growing up surrounded by all kinds of animals — including chickens and goats — dogs have always been her absolute favorites. Her own dog, Obie, was adopted from the Austin Animal Center as a 4-month-old puppy and has been her constant companion ever since. (Obie also takes his unofficial role as Midtown’s yard patrol supervisor very seriously.) Natalie has a special soft spot for senior dogs and shy ones, and loves helping pet parents feel at ease when they leave their dogs with the Midtown team.
Michelle Guillerault | Assistant Manager
Michelle studied biology at Southern Connecticut State University before finding her calling in professional dog care. She moved to Texas in 2017, fell in love with working at a pet resort, and joined the Midtown team when she relocated to Austin in 2019. Michelle has a particular affection for the smaller dogs in the facility, making sure everyone is having a good time and getting plenty of love throughout the day. At home, she shares her space with her cat Henry, who aspires to take up the entire couch.
Chloe Smith | Assistant Manager
Chloe is a native Austinite and a UT biology graduate who came to Midtown with a background in professional dog training, wildlife rehabilitation, and zoo interning. She has been working with dogs professionally for over seven years and volunteers as a photographer and event helper for animal rescue organizations. At home, Chloe maintains what she lovingly calls a ‘mini zoo’: two dogs, two cats, and two ball pythons. Her newest addition, a young Sapsali named Journey — recently imported from South Korea — keeps things interesting.
Rosa Garcia | Groomer
Rosa has been grooming dogs for 11 years and loves her profession deeply — treating every pup she works with as if they were her own. Rosa specializes in helping anxious or troubled dogs become confident and relaxed on the grooming table, patiently building trust one visit at a time. A native Texan from Laredo, Rosa is a devoted pet parent to five animals of her own: two cats and three dogs.
El Chism | Groomer
El discovered a passion for dogs as a teenager and has been in the grooming industry ever since. When not pampering pups at Midtown, El can often be found outdoors with Chief — an 11-year-old heeler who keeps life lively. El brings genuine enthusiasm and care to every appointment and looks forward to meeting every new dog that comes through the door.
